Mare Travel Grant
The Highland Pony Society offers travel grants to help members with the costs of transporting mares to visit licensed stallions for breeding purposes.
Grant Available
Grants of up to £100 are available per mare travel to help offset transportation costs. The grant amount will be calculated based on your actual travel expenses.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for a mare travel grant, you must meet the following requirements:
- Mare must be registered with the Highland Pony Society
- Stallion must be licensed with the HPS
- You must be a current HPS member
- Travel must be for breeding purposes only
- Maximum grant of £100 per mare travel
Required Documentation
When applying for the grant, you will need to provide:
- Receipt or invoice for travel costs
- Service certificate from stallion owner
- Mare registration details
- Stallion registration and licence details
How It Works
Arrange Mare Travel
Transport your mare to visit the licensed stallion for breeding purposes.
Keep Documentation
Retain receipts or invoices for all travel costs and obtain a service certificate from the stallion owner.
Complete Application
Fill out the online application form with details of the mare, stallion, travel costs, and bank details for payment.
Submit Supporting Documents
Upload or post copies of receipts and service certificate to verify your claim.
Receive Grant Payment
Once approved, the grant will be paid directly into your nominated bank account.
Important Notes
- • The grant is calculated based on actual travel costs, up to a maximum of £100
- • Applications must be submitted within 3 months of the travel date
- • Both mare and stallion must be registered with the HPS
- • The stallion must hold a current HPS licence
- • Grants are subject to availability and approval by the Society
