The Highland Pony Society Performance Awards scheme recognises the versatility and achievements of Highland Ponies across a wide range of disciplines.

Bronze Award

For ponies starting their competition career with points from affiliated events.

Silver Award

Recognising consistent achievement across multiple competitions and disciplines.

Gold Award

The highest recognition for outstanding performance and achievement.

About the Scheme

The Performance Awards scheme celebrates the versatility of Highland Ponies and the dedication of their owners and riders. Points are awarded for achievements in various disciplines, with certificates and rosettes presented at different levels.

The scheme encourages members to participate in a wide range of activities with their Highland Ponies, demonstrating the breed's adaptability and willing temperament.

Eligible Disciplines

Points can be earned in the following disciplines:

In-hand showing at affiliated shows
Ridden showing classes
Dressage competitions
Show jumping
Cross country and eventing
Driving competitions
Endurance riding
Working hunter classes

How to Apply

Collect Your Results

Keep records of your pony's competition results, including show programmes and result sheets.

Complete the Application

Download and complete the Performance Award application form with details of your achievements.

Submit Evidence

Include copies of results sheets, photographs, or other evidence of your pony's achievements.

Send to HPS

Post your completed application and evidence to the Society office with the appropriate fee.

Receive Your Award

Once verified, you will receive your certificate and rosette by post.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Pony must be registered with the Highland Pony Society
  • Owner/rider must be a current HPS member
  • Results must be from recognised competitions
  • Evidence of results must be provided
